Shared family plans and lists across households
By the Same Page team · Updated September 24, 2026
Different work hours, school schedules and households make coordination complicated. A shared list or plan gives everyone a reference point without requiring every update to become a new group conversation.
Give each plan the details people need
For a trip, add the dates, location, travel costs and anything that needs saving. For a family activity, agree on the time, who is going and what each person is bringing. Keep changes in the same place as the original plan.
Use lists for things that change often
A grocery list should be easy to update from the kitchen and from the store. Same Page lets family members add items, track prices and check off what has been picked up. Everyone can see the updated list.
Decide who belongs in each family space
You can create or join more than one Same Page family. That can be useful for an immediate household and a separate space with extended relatives. Each new family needs its own lifetime access code or subscription; joining an existing family by invitation is included.
Keep private information private
Share only the details needed for the task. Use private notes for thoughts that are not ready to share, and review who is invited before adding sensitive family information. Encrypted content is readable by the members who hold its keys.
Try a simple weekly routine
- Add the week’s important dates and practical details.
- Update the shared grocery and household list.
- Ask where anyone needs help.
- Review changes together instead of assuming everyone has seen them.
